Steve Gray on "The Gregory Mantell Show"
"The Gregory Mantell Show"
(Kansas City, MO) April 15, 2008 - Science and religion knocked heads recently on The Gregory Mantell Show, a popular cable TV and internet talk show televised in LA and New York. Bringing what is commonly regarded as opposite ends of the spectrum together, Mantell interviewed Pastor Steve Gray and scientist Jeff Schweitzer to hash through the topic of modern morality in America during this half-hour weekly broadcast aired on February 23, 2008.
Gray, author, pastor, and television host, brought a perspective to this interview that is unique in the religious world. Not one who claims to be part of the "moral majority," Gray believes people need to "experience God - and then make decisions on morality."
"Morality isn't supposed to be the calling card of religion," Gray states. A strong proponent of Christianity, simultaneously Gray believes that churches in America are failing in their calling. "The church's job is to bring the presence of God to people," he says. His recent book, My Absurd Religion, focuses on the failures Gray has seen and experienced in the religious system of America and works to bring a solution to the crisis he sees in American Christianity.
Gray pastors World Revival Church, a church that made the headlines of Time and Newsweek when it experienced what Gray describes as the "lightnings of God."
